Forest School
We are very fortunate to have wonderful grounds with a huge wild meadow and woodlands.
All classes enjoy at least one Forest School session each week whatever the weather.
Forest School is a specific approach to learning outside the classroom. It supports the delivery of the curriculum in a creative and inspiring way and allows children to initiate their own play in a natural environment. It plays a significant role in developing a range of skills and dispositions including risk-taking, self-esteem, motivation to learn, problem solving skills, independence, speech and language, emotional intelligence, resilience, balance and coordination. Children have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities including den making, identifying trees, plants, insects and animals, creative play, problem solving and team building activities, orienteering, environmental art and craft and fire making.
